In a bid for better Kaduna State, the country’s Director, Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, Dr. Joseph John Hayab, has partnered with Hayin Banki unity carnival, 2021 with the aim to strengthen peace among residents of Kaduna State and the world at large.
The program took place at the weekend in a village called”small-London in Hayin Banki, Kaduna with traditional leaders, youths, women, religious leaders, and other stakeholders present.
Commending the efforts of the community for sustainable peace and development, Dr. Hayab said peace is the universal cravings of every mankind, expressed that the people will enjoy themselves living together in harmony rather than giving attention to those things that divide the people.
Addressing Journalists during the event, the peace ambassador, said tension in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole is responsible for the breach in unity and progress, noted that Kaduna and the country can live together as one if everybody can embrace peace.
Hayab noted that the “Hayin Banki unity carnival is to help foster more relationship among people no matter their differences, urged other communities to emulate them so as to be able to curb the virus of division that has been injected into the people for sometimes now.
“Initially, people lives together in harmony but because of the growing tension in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole, we lost our peace. So what the community decide to do is to take a proactive step to unite themselves under what they called it “Hayin Banki Unity Carnival”, so that they will not even give room for division among the people. Am so happy that both their leaders, youths, women, including their religious leaders and all other stakeholders are collectively in this effort.
“If every community can come together we will fight and defeat evil. but if we wait until they strike and people are dead we will only be crying and blaming each other. So I salute Hayin banki understanding and that is why Global Peace Foundation said we need to identify with with them. This very important occasion reminds me of the good old days and also gives me that there is hope that these terrible things we are seeing today we will be able to overcome it when we continue to work together.” He concluded.
