Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, said Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State can never return as Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress. (APC)
Elrufai made this known while Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said Buni, who is currently out of the country, can only return as governor of Yobe, but not as chairman of the ruling APC.
According to him, the Current Caretaker Committee Chairman and Governor of Niger State, Mallam Sani Bello has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari and other 19 Governors under the platform of the ruling party.
In his statement, he simply put, Buni can only return as the Governor of Yobe State not as APC Chairman because the current Chairman, Bello has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari and 19 governors.
Recall, that News-Port nigeria earlier reported on how Governor Sani Bello of Niger State stepped into the office of the caretaker chairman on Monday.
Alot of controversies since then has emeeeme as many opined that the step may tear the ruling party apart as the 2023 general election draws closer.
