Int’l Women’s Day: WITED Urge Parents To Allow Females Go For Passion

Women in Technical Education and Employment (WITED) Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, has called on parents to allow the female counterparts go for their dreams and passion, said in it there is fulfilment.

 

WITED made the call on Tuesday while reaching out to the female students of HMS school and Queen Amina College in Kaduna during a Lecture held on Self hygiene to mark the International Women’s Day.

 

Speaking at the program, the Guest Speaker, Dr Hussaini Abdulwahab from Shehu Muhammad Kangiwa Hospital of Kaduna Polytechnic, said “Self hygiene is a daily activity that should be taught at the grassroots due to its importance.”

He lamented that “The world is faced with different ailments because most people lack the knowledge of personal hygiene.”

 

Showing solidarity, the Coordinator, Dr. Comfort Alabi said the lecture presented is part of the activities to commemorate the International Women’s Day, disclosed that , WITED was set up to enhance the participation of females in science and technology in 1988.

 

Dr. Comfort, urged parents to allow the girls in choosing their carrier part and allow them follow their passion, task the students on Focus, Sel Discipline and Courage in other to be able to deploy their potentials in the nearest future.

 

Reacting to the visit, the Vice-principal, HMS School thanked the team for the gesture, solicited that WITED Students Wing be introduced in the school.

 

The Vice Principal Academy, Queen Amina College, Kaduna, Rabiu Lawan lamented over the lack of manpower in the area of Engineering and technical studies, urging the team to always check on the girls to see how far they have gone.

 

Highlights of the event were presentation of detergents, hand sanitizers and books to the female students, shortly after exploring the year’s theme: ‘Breaking the Bias’
