Atleast, 50 persons have been killed while not fewer than 100 abducted, as Terrorists invaded nine villages in a fresh attack on Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
NewsPort Nigeria gathered that vehicles, a church, and other buildings were burnt by the terrorists.
The nine villages are Duromi, Kadanya, Unguwar Kaya Fatika, Barebare, Dillalai, Zango Tama, Unguwar Bakko, and Gidan Alhajin Kadi.
Reacting to the ugly incident in a report, the CAN Chairman Kaduna State and Country Director Nigeria, Global Peace Foundation Rev Dr. Joseph John Hayap, lamented over the killings of innocent people, urged stakeholders at all levels to embrace dialogue for the restoration of lasting peace.
In thesame vein, the Former Governor of Kaduna state, Ahmed Markarfi, said “It is rather unfortunate that just a few days apart, we are having to, once again mourn the loss of innocent lives and destruction of properties in Kaduna State.
“The attacks and subsequent loss of about 50 lives as reported and properties in Giwa Local Government, coming so shortly on the heels of the ones in the southern parts of the state earlier in the week are a stark reminder of the perilous times we seem to be in.
He urged Government at all levels including residents to strategize on ways to proofer lasting solution to the insecurity challenges in the country even as security is a collective effort.
