We are extremely interested in our youth population. It is essential as a State that we focus on them because they are the key to our future.
We will focus on expanding, driving, and executing a broader scope youth development programme. It is essential to create large-scale outcomes for a globally competitive and truly Northern cosmopolitan state.
-Free education will be with emphasis on improving its quality. At the tertiary level, we will continue with bursaries but also provide easy-access student loans to those who need them.
-We will prioritise a thriving creative industry. We will expand the scope of what currently exists to bring it up to world-class standards concerning innovation, the strength of its offering, and output.
We need to attract the world’s attention to the rich cultural heritage and multifacetedness of our local talent.
The world is evolving. We need to embrace the scale of technological growth and innovation that is commonplace today in the developed world.
Kaduna State needs to be at the forefront of technological disruption and creative innovation in Nigeria. We need to create a State brand “MADE IN KADUNA” recognised substantially both locally and globally.
With the abundant opportunities in the digital economy, our youths should not be unemployed. We will enable them to unlock a new era of comprehensive growth by empowering them with meaningful opportunities for capacity building and technology transfer, partnering with game-changing industry stakeholders such as Netflix and venture capitalists/private equities/startup funds to accelerate a creative/digital economic boom.
These, and so much more, are my plans for our people for the growth and long-overdue development of our dear State. The modernisation goal is indeed all-embracing.
The time to modernise Kaduna State is NOW. We must move forwards and not backwards. We require a visionary and not a ‘street smart’ leader. Please stand with me today and *INSIST* on a more meaningful, equitable, and prosperous State. Choose to be loyal ONLY TO WHAT SERVES YOUR FUTURE.
