Wives of Civil Defence Officers Wives Association, (CDOWA) have stormed the Arewa House Kaduna on the occasion of their Magazine launching and fund raising for an eighteen seater bus.
The program which had in attendance men from all walks of life made their modest donations towards the course, applauded the efforts of the Association.
Speaking to Journalists shortly after the event, the Chairperson, CDOWA, Mrs. Uchenna Ezebuilo Miebi, said the Association over the years have recorded alot of successes, but were limited in the area of mobility hence the need for the fund raising of the 18-seater bus.
“What i want to achieve is to make CDOWA comfortable. We discovered that other Associations have their own Bus. You can imagine our women jumping from one Public vehicle to the other, this has not really been easy for them.
“So we decided to call on our Sisters and other collaborating agencies to come and support the course. If we are able to achieve this project, it will not only be of benefit to the officer’s wives alone but also to our husbands when the need arises. She said.
The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Muhammed Baba, who Chair the occasion, applauded the efforts of the association for their contributions to Nation building, especially in the area of humanitarian services for the needy, youths and children.
She said the women as nation builders have helped the society in such way as part of their own sociocultural responsibilities for sustainable development, urged them to unite themselves and build a lasting impact in Kaduna State and the country at large.
