Presidential Aspirant on the platform of http://PDP.com People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Peter Obi in Kaduna today, has cried out over the current situation of the country.
Obi lamented on Monday while meeting with PDP delegates, said Nigeria has collapsed.
According to him, Nigeria government have thrown the people into poverty than other countries of the world, has more poor people with India and China combined as a result of culminative leadership failure.
The Aspirant who expressed dissatisfaction over the current spate of insecurity particularly in Kaduna State, disclosed that even if anywhere in the North is not safe, Kaduna should be secured due to the high level of military installations but reverse is the case.
The Economist, Peter Obi in Kaduna, further stressed that Nigerians have abandoned textile industries and only depend on oil money to share when countries like Vietnam is making it big from textile industries and garments.
He said “Our leaders have neglected the area of production and as a result have reduced the country into a consuming nation, leaving majority of Nigerians in poverty and scarcity.
Obi who was also the former Governor of Anambra State, explained that the country’s debt under former President, Olusegun Obasanjo was N3.3trillion but today, Nigeria is borrowing and servicing debts of about N58trillion at ninety Kobo at every #1 made.
“What we are doing is that we are consuming our future. That is why every #1 we make, we use 90-kobo to sevice debt.
“Everywhere you go in this country, all you hear is bad news. Everything is difficult in this country. No job, no security, hunger is in the land. Nigeria have been in one bad news or the other everyday. It is not safe to travel to any part of the country.
“Culmulative leadership failure of bad leaders over the years have resulted to our misfortunes. Nigeria has thrown her people into poverty than other country. We have more poor people in the world with India and China combined. We have to do something now else things will go worse.
“Nigeria remains a good country. Only bad leadership challenges. We have all it takes to be a great country. All we do now is to share oil money and throw people into poverty and other related difficulties.
“I want to turn Nigeria from consuming to a producing country. National security is pulling people out of poverty. When you pull the people out of poverty, criminality will reduce. I will also Provide necessary equipments for Security agencies. He added.
Responding to his visit, the PDP Kaduna State Chairman, Honourable Felix Hyat, assured him that many of the people especially delegates are behind him
He said Kaduna delegates will not vote Northerner or Southerner but a Nigerian who is capable to lead the country.
