http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Kaduna State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Asma’u Sani Maikudi, said Kaduna State has recorded the highest number of online registrants in the whole of Northern Nigeria, following the ongoing registeration for the Permanent Voters Card
Dr. Asma’u, disclosed this to Journalists during the stakeholders meeting held at the INEC Office in Kaduna on Wednesday.
In a chat made available to the Media, Kaduna as at Monday, 14th May 2023 has a total number of online registrants at 486,589 while Borno State has 414,303, Zamfara at 346,144, Kano 333,708 among others.
Complete registration of the Permanent Voters Card registration also falls at Kano – 253,338, Kogi, 212,754, Kwara, 210,234 and Kaduna 182,874.
She also noted that Kaduna is now 4th in the whole of the Federation with Osun having 709,133, Delta – 597, 842, Bayelsa – 508,385, Lagos – 496, 620 and Kaduna – 486,589.
“As of Monday, May 16, 2022, Kaduna State recorded the highest number of registrants online in the northern part of Nigeria and third largest in physical registration in the region.’’ she said.
She further warned citizens against multiple registrations, said the commission discovered about 37.4 per cent of the new registration in Kaduna State was invalid.
Hajiya Asma’u, urged all stakeholders to assist in educating the people about the challenges associated with multiple registration so they can be able to avoid it at all costs.
“The Commission is therefore calling on all stakeholders to assist in educating Nigerians about the problems of multiple registration,’’ Maikudi stressed.
She also disclosed that INEC Kaduna State came tops in the northern part of Nigeria in the on-going online voters registration with 486, 589 registrants.”
Hajiya Asma’u further said the htt://inec.com independent National Electoral Commission is ready for the Elections, noted that the state has received some consignments already, urged residents to get their Permanent Voters Card ready to elect leaders of their choice.
