http://www.newsportng.com.ng In my few years of journalistic voyage, I have had courses to discuss with a few contestants in Chikun/Kajuru constituency their manifestos. Surprisingly, none was able to convince me beyond reasonable doubt that indeed they are out to serve and not to be served except Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams. Infact, some are mere gate crashers who are out to fulfill all righteousness.
Recently, I got entangled with some political gurus and juggernauts in Chikun/Kajuru constituency as they claimed to be; who gave me one thousand and one reasons why I should withdraw my loyalty and support for the Youngest. Most of the reasons they gave were anti masses and counterproductive to the development of our great constituency that is suffering setbacks due to poor and selfish leadership style.
To shorten them up, I demanded for a better alternative among all the contestants irrespective of political party. If my memory is not failing me we have three frontline contestants i.e. Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams (Labour Party), Umar Barde (PDP) and Hon. Cafra Caino (APC). Pardon me for omitting Hon. Wushiri of (NNPP) because for now I feel he is politically warming the bench.
However, take a cursory look at the scorecards of the aforementioned contestants; be frank to yourself and tell the world who the cap fits! Until we begin to see through the lenses of truth, honesty and trustworthiness we shall continue to remain under the shackles of poverty, underdevelopment, injustice as a result of the highhandedness of the incumbent and his cohorts.
Ekene Abubakar Adams has sacrificed a lot for his constituency to ensure a balanced life where nobody sleeps with an empty tummy using his hard earned resources. His stewardship is open for scrutiny.
For those of you that question my loyalty to the Youngest: I challenge you to give me a better alternative and I will withdraw my loyalty and support immediately.
In as much as I breathe, I will continue to support the aspiration of the Youngest under the labour party because of his passion to reclaim and give back to the society what belongs to them. This I do wholeheartedly until the day mischief makers present a better contestant with an overwhelming scorecard than his. As we speak, there is none!
