http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Governorship candidate of People Redemption Party, (PRP) Malam Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi, has vowed to make social media a productive industry if elected the Governor of Kaduna State, come 2023, said the innovation will create job for young people.
Malam Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi, gave the promise, while speaking with newsmen in Kaduna, said the new media has the capacity to gainfully employed young people against all odds.
Hayatuddeen, while lamenting that greater percentage of young people in Kaduna state and the country, lacks the idea on how they can get themselves employed, thereby making good living through social media and other internet platforms, noted that there is need for encouragement from the side of government to the Youth’s populace.
The Gubernatorial candidate further disclosed that the modern global economy especially commercial activities have taken a new paradigm shift, reiterating that with the advent of internet usage, People can explore in different commercial services if a focus leader is given the mandate, in the coming months to pioneer the affairs of governance.
He also explained that developed countries of the world including inventors know the economic importance attached to the inventions of social media, meanwhile third world countries limited it’s usage due to the environment they found themselves on the ground that said “when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.”
Hayatuddeen urged young people in Nigeria to emulate their counterparts in other sides of the globe whom have been tapping from the vast opportunities in the sector for self-reliance and as means of better livelihood.
Also on the part of government, he called on relevant authorities to develop some mechanism so as to empower the youths on how to utilize internet platforms, noting that such will reduce the high level of unemployment ravaging the country and will alleviate the pressure of white collar job on the side of government. – Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi
