http://www.newsportng.com.ng As part of its activities to use an economic empowerment approach to address unemployment in the country, the Management International University in collaboration with Inter-faith Mediation Centre (IMC) has trained 26 youths who are indigenes of Kaduna State on business studies.
During her speech at the graduation ceremony yesterday, the Commissioner, Kaduna State ministry of education, Hajia Halima Lawal urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the state and the nation at large.
Represented by Zakari Adamu from the ministry of education, the Commissioner tasked the graduands to put into practice what they have learnt, saying that practice makes perfect.
“What you have acquired put it into practice because practice, make perfect, You are the ones to advertise this institution by exhibiting
what you have learned to the society by so doing others will see your
good works and begin to ask questions, where, how and when your positive answers will encourage them to seek admission into MIU to also
have the same training”.
The Nigeria Program Manager, MIU, Samson Auta tasked the graduating students to make good use of opportunity given to them, adding that they should not engage in internet fraud.
The Co-executive Director, Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC) Rev James Marvel Wuye has expressed worry over rising insecurity in Nigeria, saying that farmers can no longer go to their farms.
“I have a farm along Kaduna-Abuja road and I have a house in the farm but for the last four years I have not been able to step there because of insecurity, my farm house has become a hideout for bandits”.
According to him, insecurity has encroached into his space of re-greening Nigeria and Africa, adding that most of the challenges he is facing are mainly environmental.
