http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Department of State Services (DSS) disclosed why the publisher, desert Herald Newspaper, Tukur Mamu, was arrested on Tuesday.
Recalled that NewsPort Nigeria reported the arrest of Mamu who was nabbed by the Egyptians’ police in Cairo, Egypt.
Speaking on the development, DSS said Tukur Mamu, a negotiator between bandits and the passengers kidnapped from the attacked Abuja-Kaduna train, is currently in their custody.
A statement by Afunanya reads: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has been inundated with enquires in respect of the arrest or otherwise of Tukur Mamu, the self-acclaimed Kaduna Train hostage negotiator.
He further explain that that the act followed a request by Nigeria’s Military, Law Enforcement and Intelligence Community to their foreign partners to bring back Mamu to the country to answer critical questions on ongoing investigations relating to some security matters in parts of the country.
While noting that the law will take it’s due course, he added tha the public may know other reasons at the appropriate time upon conclusion of their investigations.
“The act followed a request by Nigeria’s Military, Law Enforcement and Intelligence Community to their foreign partners to bring back Mamu to the country to answer critical questions on ongoing investigations relating to some security matters in parts of the country. The public may wish to note that the law will appropriately take its course.”
