http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Governorship candidate, People’s Redemption Party, (PRP) Malam Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi, has lamented over the involvement of quacks in Nigeria politics.
Hayatuddeen made the disclosure, during the Arewa House Lecture, “contemporary Nigerian politics and the ghost of politics of the independence struggle,” held in Kaduna, said incompetence is responsible for the current challenges of governance in Nigeria society.
Makarfi, who lamented over what he termed misrule in Nigeria, while making contribution at the program, stressed that the society will remain doom until the people make up their mind to select leaders who are sensitive to Nigeria issue based and global challenges.
The PRP Guber candidate, while reiterating that governance should focus more on capacity, competence and problem solving skills, noted that money politics has brought upon Nigeria, leaders who does not have the technical know-how to move the country forward.
He urged Youths not to shy away from politics, regardless of their financial strength so as to have intellectuals who can govern the affairs of the country in the nearest future.
Lawal charged the Arewa research center to also consider research on whether the muslim-muslim ticket in kaduna state by Governor Nasir El-rufai have further united or divide the people of kaduna state.
“If we select leaders who are quacks and not sensitive to global challenges and our problem as a people, we will never get it right. So, i will use this platform to advocate that people of intellectuals venture into politics rather than leaving our affairs in the hand of quacks.
“Haven appreciated the efforts of Arewa research center for the good job they are doing, I also want to urged them to look at some of the critical things affecting Kaduna state. For instance, we need to know the impacts of muslim-muslim ticket on the people of Kaduna state to know whether it has united or has further caused division on the part of good people of Kaduna state.” He said.
