http://www.newsportng.com.ng The senator representing Kaduna central senatorial district and gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC in kaduna state, Uba Sani has backed incubent Governor, Nasir El-rufai on the state’s debt profile.
Uba Sani during a one day public dialogue with additional Gubernatorial candidates in Kaduna state to present demand charter to influence manifestoes, held in Kaduna, said there is nothing wrong in borrowing.
The Lawmaker despite different questions raised by the citizens of the State to that effect, disclosed that developing countries need to borrow on the ground that governance is expensive, adding that borrowing is not a problem provided the people can see development.
Uba who noted that the present administration has done well in the area of infrastructures, saying that Governor el-rufai can access loan from international organization due to the fact that his administration has been able to embrace Open Government Partnership (OGP).
He further reiterated that his administration will be a continuation of the current administration, touching the area of education and rural development, he said.
“Borrowing money is not a problem provided we can see development. Government needs to borrow for developmental projects. Debt is inevitable in developing countries”.
While speaking, the former Senator who represented Kaduna North in the 8th Assembly and Gubernatorial candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, explained that he will clean up the mess poised on Kaduna state by the riling APC government, if elected into office come 2023.
Hunkuyi who lamented that the 8 years of APC is a disappointment, saying that he will look into some of the issues bothering Kaduna residents.
He also frowned at the current challenges of insecurity bedevilling the State, maintaining that there is need for government to proffer solution to the crucial issues that has damaged the destiny of young people, particularly students.
