http://www.newsportng.com.ng As the polity continue to heat up ahead of the 2023 general elections, supporters of Labour Party (LP) in Kaduna state, “OBIdients” have staged solidarity health work for her presidential candidate Peter Obi, his running mate, Datti Baba Ahmed and the candidate for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Ekene Abubukar Adams.
The OBIdients who stormed various street in Kaduna, said they are out to sensitize the people ahead of the forthcoming general elections and also to inform those who said the party has no structure, so they can know that 2023 is not going to be a business as usual.
It could be recalled that the movement proposed a 2million man march on 1st October, to commemorate Nigeria’s 62nd year Independence celebration, a program that Governor Nasir El-rufai had said would not comfortably Mobislise 200 supporters in the state.
Speaking with Journalists during the event, the LP candidate for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Ekene Abubukar Adams, said the program is tagged Ekene for Obi movement group with the mandate to sensitize People at the grassroot and to ensure Nigerians do not make another mistake while voting in 2023.
Ekene who also flagged off his campaign today said politics is not a job but a call to service, stressed that their leader alongside other LP candidates are out to rescue Nigerians from slavery.
Adams noted that a better Nigeria is possible with the candidacy of Obi, while reiterating that the OBIdients movement is a force that cannot be stopped.
He said, “We are people’s servant. I believe politics is not a job. It is a call to serve humanity who are agitating for this change. Am optimistic there will be a better Nigeria. You can see the structure all over. We are the real structure so i believe Peter Obi is coming for a better Nigeria due to the yearnings of the people.”
Also speaking with newsmen during the event, chairman of All supports group for Peter Obi movement, Chief Morrison Ikpeanaeze, said he is elated to see people from all walks of life gracing the peace walk despite the fact nobody gave them “shishi”
Ikpeanaeze said from the support accorded to him by the groups, Obi is no doubt the next president of the Nigeria, urged support groups not to relent in their quest for good governance.
