http://www.newsportng.com.ng Kaduna State Peace Commission, (KADPECOM) has disclosed that the agency is consulting relevant stakeholders to ensure peaceful conduct of elections in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Kaduna State.
The Executive Vice Chairman, KADPECOM, Dr. Saleh Momale stated this on Tuesday, during a press conference in Kaduna.

According to him, the commission has planned series of activities to partner other Civil Society Organizations, (CSOs) both at the national and international bodies, to work together and try as much as possible to organize the election campaign in a peaceful manner.
“We have planned series of activities, to roll out as an agency as well as patnering every other Civil Society Organization, (CSOs) both national and international bodies, to work together and try as much as we can to see to the organization of the election campaign in the most peaceful manner and in the most peaceful ways, possible for 2023 election”.
Dr. Momale, while reiterating that the need for peaceful electioneering campaign can never be overemphasized, said the commission will reconvene again to deliberate on the roadmap to adopt so as to achieve the desired fundamental objectives of the agency.
“Very soon the commission will meet again to deliberate on the road map we will adopt in ensuring peaceful campaign and peaceful election. The National Peace Committee has already started the process at the national level. At the state level we are already starting in engaging with the key political parties and hopefully we will begin to engage with the aspirants of the various positions at the Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and the State’s House of Assembly”.
He noted that the National Peace Committee has started the peace building process, following the Peace Accord signed by the presidential candidates of various political parties, he added.
Momale said, “the importance of peaceful campaign, peaceful election and peaceful post election days can never be overemphasized. Especially if we make reference to election violence in Kaduna State like the worst scenario in 2011 elections.
“For this reason, the commission and all the relevant agencies of the security institutions of government in Kaduna State are committed to working together with the citizens of the state for peaceful elections and therefore we will do all we can like we did during the 2019 general elections as well as the various Local Government Areas’ elections that were held in Kaduna State.
