http://www.newsportng.com.ng Following the need to strengthen Muslim-christian relationship in Kaduna state, christians have joined their Muslim counterparts to mark the 2022 Eid El Maulud celebration in Kaduna state.
The christian faithfuls stormed the popular Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna on Saturday on the ideaology that peace is the Universal craving of every man kind.
Eid El Maulud is a day set aside by Muslim Faithfuls to commemorate the birth of the Islamic Holy Prophet Mohammed S.A.W peace be upon Him.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event, Head of Delegation, Pastor Yohanna Buru, said his dream is to see the two major religions living together in peace regardless of their differences.
He noted that, “during Christmas, Muslims from all over the 19 northern states of Nigeria comes to my church to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Therefore it is important for us to reciprocate the kind gesture today.”
Buru who congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubukar Sa’ad 111 and other movement of the Islamic Sects, reiterated that sustainable Peace is a collective effort and as such religious and traditional leaders must show commitment and sensitize followers on the need to embrace peace at all levels.
“Maulud celebration Provides golden opportunity for Christians to meet, interact and exchange good Will messages to foster peace and unity in Kaduna state and the country at large.
“Peace is a collective effort and as such religious and traditional leaders must ensure those who live within their reach lives as peace ambassadors.” He added.
The Public Relation Officer, Fityanul Islam Nigeria, sheikh Tukur Abdulsalam, while responding to the kind gesture from the Christian faith, said the need for peace and love among adherence of the two major religions can never be overemphasized.
Tukur disclosed that himself alongside other Muslim faithfuls were in the church last year December 25th 2021 to celebrate with Christians on the occasion of the birth of Jesus on the ideaology that humanity is one under one God.
He said “myself and others who share same view remain committed to the peace building process that is going on in kaduna state. So I want to call on all asundry to embrace peace and contribute your own quota to further strengthen our relationship.”
