http://www.newsportng.com.ng Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) has suspended its eight month old strike on condition that it would monitor the Federal government compliance with its demands.
News-Port Nigeria gathered that ASUU suspended the strike following the intervention of the Speaker, House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajamiala.

Although the union is yet to make an official pronouncement, meanwhile it was gathered that the decision was taken at the end of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja.
ASUU President is expected to release an official circular this morning to that effect.
