http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Kaduna state Gubernatorial candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Hon. Isah Ashiru Kudan, has said that mistrust and disunity are the major causes of insecurity in Nigeria particularly in Kaduna state.
Ashiru stated this during the media parley with various party candidates vying for positions in the forthcoming general election, a program organized by Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kaduna state Council.
The PDP candidate who unfolded his five point agenda at the meeting, stressed that residents no longer sleep with their eyes closed due to fear of the unknown, assuring that “this will come to an end once we come into office.”
He lamented that the unemployment rate in the country particularly Kaduna state has grown beyond comprehension and as such, his administration will have to do everything possible to arrest the situation.
Speaking on the retrenchment of workers, he said the approach has further aggravated the level of poverty and insecurity in the state. He said people were sent out of work without payment of their entitlement, a challenge that can be handled by good leadership he will offer to the good people of Kaduna state.
“The situation we find ourselves in this country and in particular Kaduna has been detoriating day by day with people sleeping with their two eyes open.
“Unfortunately, so many reasons gave rise to this insecurity which are mistrust and disunity among the people of Kaduna state. This will come to an end once we come into to office.
“People living on suspicion thinking that one section of the state is dominating the other will be a thing of the past.
“Poverty is another reason, we are in abject poverty in this country. Particularly the north. The national bureau of statistics sent out figures about 133m Nigerian are in abject poverty with 70% from the north. This is alarming and we have to do whatever humanly possible to arrest this.
“The unemployment rate has grown beyond comprehension. We have to do everything possible to arrest this situation.
“The issue of retrenchment of workers has further aggravated the level of poverty and insecurity in the state. People were sent out of work without payment of their entitlement. This is something hing that can be arrested when we have the right leadership. He added.
Ashiru also promised to invest in agriculture, health and other sectors that will improve the livelihoods of the common man, urged residents to vote PDP in the forthcoming general election for a prosperous Kaduna state
