http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Federal Lawmaker representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, has said that without missing words, he remains committed to all his campaign promises.
Hon. Ekene disclosed this in Abuja on Wednesday, barely 24hrs of his inauguration into the green chamber, during a stakeholders’ meeting, said himself alongside his team will embark on wide range consultations to ensure that the dividends of democracy is delivered to all asundry under his leadership in the space of four years in office.
He reiterated that his victory is a dream come true and would not leave any stone on top each other until the desired results are achieved.
It could be recalled that before his election, the humanitarian has promised to create 5,000 jobs for unemployed youths in the Constituency alongside scholarship scheme for students, construction of health care centres, Youths and sports development, poverty alleviation through the creation of an empowerment scheme, among others.
Asking whether it’s a strategy to win the just concluded election, Ekene said he had begun a personal project on transformer distribution and the full effect would be felt in the next seven days.
He said, “To God be the glory. It’s a dream come true and I believe God has a purpose for it. By the grace of God, the desire that people aspire to see will surely come to them. Without missing any of our words, we believe in our campaign promises, and we want to make sure we deliver it to our people . We have personal projects like that of the transformer and we are going to embark on that in the next seven days.
“Also on constituency projects, we are going to embark on wide range consultations alongside our empower m programs so as to make life more meaningful to our people.
“The season of campaign is over. It’s time to work and all hands must be on deck. My predecessor has done very well and we will consolidate on his good legacies. Governance is all about continuity. We will look into areas he didn’t do well. I will engage critical stakeholders from the various Constituency to know their pleights so I can be able to know how to come in. Don’t fail to call me to order when am going wrong because am still your son. We will try as much as possible to give back to the constituency.” He assured.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after the program, the Chairman All support groups, Labour Party, Kaduna state, Chief Morrison Ikpeamaze, said Ekene is a man of his words.
Morrison said, “I’m so happy to be here because when you labour and the fruit of your Labour is seen, then you will be a happy man. I’m so happy because our labor is not in vain. Atleast we were able to make impact in Kaduna state particularly in Chikun/Kajuru and Kaura LGAs where we won two House of Representatives seat.
“I want Ekene to do well because he is a man with zeal and good charisma. I want him to step up his games so that in the next four years he can go higher to contest for Senate. Labour party in the next four years will make good impact not only in Kaduna but in the whole of the Federation.
Also, speaking at the event on the politics of bitterness, Yahaya Washiri, who contested for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency on the platform of New Nigerian People’s Party, (NNPP) said he received the invitation from Ekene with gladness because he sees it as a way of uniting the people regardless of their differences.
Washiri, said he is ready to give him every needed support that would assist him solve the many challenges confronting the good people of Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency and therefore urged everybody to support the new government so as to be able to proffer lasting solution to their common problems.
