http://www.newsportng.com.ng Barely five days in office, the House of Representatives Member for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Kaduna under the platform of Labour Party, (LP) Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, has doled out Ten 590 KVA transformers to different communities in his constituents.
Hon. Ekene flagged off the distribution in Kaduna on Sunday, with six cars to various individuals who contributed to his emergence in the 2023 general elections, haven defeated the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Rt. Hon. Yakubu Umar Barde who has been in the green chamber since 2003.
The Lawmaker also empowered the 66 wives of Ward Chairmen from Chikun/Kajuru, cuts across the opposition PDP, APC and LP with the sum of 150,000 each, while the 66 ward Chairmen went home with undisclosed amount.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after the event, Ekene said the gesture is part of his personal project, not constituency project, haven received complaints from different communities that has incessant challenge of power supply, so as to help boost their energy supply.
He stressed that as a philanthropist turned politician, he believes in touching the lives of people positively, and will do more for the people if they can give him their full support.
Asked on why he decided to empower Members of other Political parties, he said, “As a Leader, there is need to carry everybody along. Political campaigns are over. It’s time to work. When you carry everybody along, nobody will pull you down but when you decide to go alone, oppositions will kick and as a result you begin to have problem.
The Lawmaker further stressed that he will continue with the good legacies of his predecessor and improve upon his lapses, stressing that he will meet with him to discuss on any pending project and if given the permission, he would see to the completion of such project.(s)
In his remarks the Chief of Kufana Kajuru LG Titus Dauda who spoke on behalf of Royal Fathers, said the project is historic, one of it’s kind.
He said they have never saw such in the past years of governance in Chikun/Kajuru, where dividends of democracy is cuts across all asundry, promises that the Royal Fathers will give the new administration their hundred percent support in other for him to succeed very well.
In the same vein, the Kaduna state House of Assembly Member representing Kajuru Local Government, Hon. Usman Danlami Stingo of the PDP said, unity and dividends of democracy is the universal cravings of every electorate and therefore the effort of the Lawmaker, Ekene should be applauded by irrespective of any differences.
Hon. Stingo reiterated that for Ekene to invite and empower other members of political parties clearly shows that he is a good Leader and without doubt would take the good people of Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency to their desired destination, while calling on those empowered to Judiciously make use of what was given to them for the good of everybody.
The beneficiaries of the cars, Mr. Alexander Adanu, Solomon Ado Yani, Including his Director General, (DG) Campaign, Deacon Ezekiel Samuel, alongside members of other Political parties who were empowered in one way or the other expressed gratitude and pray God to bless and take him to his fare haven.
