www.newsportng.com.ng Following the need to assist the less privilege, orphans and vulnerable people in Kaduna state, Hauwa’u Memorial School has graduated another set of pupils under it’s free education program.
The Non governmental organizations said the gesture is aimed to give the innocent children hope so that their future is not limited by the adverse situation they found themselves and their families.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the event, the guest speaker, Prof. Shehu Mustapha, commended AMA Foundation, who is the program sponsor, said the need to give the children quality education can never be overemphasized.
Mustapha said, “for the past 10 years, Hauwa memorial school in Kaduna State has been offering free primary education to the less privileged and children of orphans who have the zeal to study both Western and Islamic education but lack sponsorship.
“This year, the free school for orphans and the less privileged has graduated another set of pupils numbering 18 and will now be transferred to Federal Government Colleges in the state for further education.
“We are deliberate and intentional about these children because if they are not given proper attention now, they will grow up to become nuisance and problem to the society and we do not want that to happen. We do not want their destiny to be limited by the circumstances surrounding them and their families.” He stressed.
In her remarks, the Former Commissioner, Human Services and Social Development, Kaduna state, Hajiya Hafsat Mohamed, commended the efforts of the school, said they have set a benchmark for other Non Governmental Organizations, (NGOs)
Hafsat said, the gesture rendered by the school management virtually all the time is worth emulating and urged well-to-do individuals and philanthropists in the state to learn and follow suit for the promotion of quality free education for the benefit of all.
