http://www.newsportng.com.ng Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Kaduna state chapter has commiserated with the Jama’atul Nasril Islam, (JNI) the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Ambassador Nuhu Bamali and all Muslim Unah over the collapse of Zaria Central mosque on Friday.
The CAN Chairman, Kaduna state Rev. John Joseph Hayab, in a condolence message sent to JNI and made available to Journalists in Kaduna on Monday, described the collapse of the ancient and historic mosque as an unfortunate incident.
The death toll from the disaster so far has raised to 12, while over 30 persons that sustained several degrees of injuries are in different hospitals within the city seeking medical attention.
Reacting to the incidence that took place on Friday, Hayab said the grief is not only within the camp of Muslim Ummah, adding that it’s a grief for all.
He stressed that every good citizen of Kaduna state is in pain since the ugly incidence and urged relatives, friends and families of the deceased to take heart, while praying for that God will grant Jama’atul Nasril Islam and others the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hayab said, “Fraternal greetings to you.
We received with grief the sudden collapse of the ancient and historic mosque at Kofar Fada, Zaria on Friday 11th Auqust 2023 during la’asar
prayers.
“This resulted to the death of many worshippers that were there observing their obligatory prayers and many others sustained various degree of injuries.
“The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna State writes on behalf of the Christian community in the State to commiserate with His Royal Highness, The Emir of Zazzau and all the Muslim ummah in the state over this
unfortunate incident.
“We pray that God will grant Jama’atul Nasril Islam, and grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and graciously heal all those that were injured.
“May God in HIs Infinite mercy grant us the desired peace and progress in
our dear state and nation. Once again, accept our heartfelt condolence.”
