Nollywood, Kannywood Stars Other Dignitaries Attend Hope Builders Festival In Kaduna
http://www.newsportng.com.ng Dignitaries from all walks of life have stormed Kaduna state, Nigeria as Hope Builders Foundation for Entrepreneurial Education marks her 2023 Festival and Enterprise Academy Graduation.
Nollywood Actor, Francise Duru, Kannywood Actress Fatima Garba, Founder Kaduna Int’l Film Festival and Vice Chairman, Nigeria Film Festival Association, Audu Kashim Israel, Maritha Osekre-Amey from Ghana, amongst other dignitaries, including different institutes of repute are currently in Kaduna to speak with the aim to inspire young people on the theme: “Transformative Innovations for Sustainable Social Change.
Speaking at the event on Wednesday, in Barnawa Epitome Hotel, the Executive Director, Hope Builders Foundation for Entrepreneurial Education, (HBFEE) Rev. Mathias Yashim, said “for the past ten years, Hope Builders have been building a stage for young people, secondary school kids through the career day initiative where we bring children together from all the schools to showcase their skills and talents.
“But sometimes last year we started the Enterprise Academy where we empowered entrepreneurs with employable skills to enable champion change making in their own spaces.
“Today we are having the first graduation of MBA students accredited by Roxbourg Institute of Social Entrepreneurship, Switzerland, an institute who coach candidates to earn their Roxbourg MBA degrees. It’s a professional education and we started this when we discovered the discrepancies between academics and employability skills.
“We have a lot of young people that has certificate but they do not have the skills that employers are looking for so ours is to ensure that we provide employability skills for those who wants to seek for employment so that they can be able to maintain their employment and should be able to be experts wherever they want to work. We also equip them to be able to create employment for Job seekers.
“We are giving opportunity to people who are dropping out of school. Of course we know that the situation in our nation is so volatile that people find it difficult to even meet up with the requirements of academics.
“Now, academic is not just it. If we know people like that or they find themselves into our own space, we gives them skills that will enable them thrive in the changing society.”
Speaking at the event, Nollywood Actor Francise Duhu encouraged young people on the need to sow value into people’s life, rather than going about in search for money.
Duhu also pointed out the need for them to have mentor as relationship that would help them to grow instead of looking for quick money to blow, stressing that sustainability starts in the process even as he said that having platform will help the young people to refine their potentials through mentorship.
He further encouraged them not to be afraid of taking steps for fear of failure because failure is the next step to success and not opposite of success as viewed by the contemporary society.
