The initiative is in line with the project of the Honourable Member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams to help boost education in the selected public schools, a project he said would come in different phases.
This is coming barely one week that the Honourable Member empowered 100 farmers cut across the two LGAs and different political parties with spraying machines, chemicals and stipend, haven trained them on agricultural input and harvest to improve food security in his constituent.
The distribution of the over forty-thousand (40,000) 60-leaves exercise books commenced on Wednesday, after the flag-off ceremony held in Kaduna on Tuesday with various stakeholders present, all applauding what they termed as the good gesture of the Honourable Member.
In his remarks, Ekene who also double as the Chairman House committee on Sport, Federal House of Representatives, said there is no way he can meet the need of everybody at a time, meanwhile he will do everything possible within his reach to give the people quality representation that they deserve.
Represented by his Director General, (DG) Ekene Constituency office, Kaduna Deacon Ezekiel Samuel, said Ekene is determined to put a smile on the face of everybody, meanwhile this gesture is purposely to encourage the children of the less privilege so they can know that the Honourable care so much for them.
He said members from the constituency office has been assigned to the selected schools in other to ensure that the books are distributed to the rightful beneficiaries.
One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of the primary school teachers in Chikun Local Government Area, Mrs. Victoria Ayuba, Head Teacher, Local Government Education Authority, (LGEA) Nasarawa 1, said “we are very grateful to the Honourable.
“This is what we have not seen before but God has brought him to help our children. We are in deed very excited and we will continue to pray for him for more grace and wisdom to come up with more innovations to better the living condition of the common man. On behalf of the LGEA Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna state, we are grateful and we are saying more Grace to him.”
Also the Head Teacher of Sabon Gari, LGEA Primary School, Mr. John Paul, said “Ekene is one in a million. He is actually a gesture that we do not see often but the fact that he has done this, on behalf of the school and other stakeholders we appreciate him and pray that he continue to grow from grace to grace and may God in his infinite mercy grant him more wisdom.”
