Kaduna Governor attends christmas carol, says era of discrimination over
http://www.newsportng.com.ng Kaduna state Governor, Senator Uba Sani has said that the era of Muslim and christian discrimination in Kaduna state is over.
Governor Uba Sani stated this during the Kaduna Unity Carol of nine lessons held in Kaduna on Sunday, organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) said his government will prioritize the unity of all and sundry as panacea for sustainable growth and development.
Sani, who lamented over what he described as a dangerous situation that has caused division amongst residents of Kaduna state, especially in the area of religion disclosed that “While I was growing up, my Dad would always force us to go to all Christmas Carol. So to me is a normal thing.
“Leadership is all about equity and justice. My government will not discriminate anyone on the basis of religion, ethnicity or whatever differences. I will make sure that development is taken to every nook and cranny of Kaduna state.”
The Governor further disclosed that he will be in southern Kaduna on 21st of December, 2023 for the ground breaking event of four major road constructions, adding that there are important roads that needed to be put in place in the zone.
He reiterated that his government had also put up several empowerment programs for women and youths, meanwhile he will not use politicians at the hem of the project instead will liaise with religious and traditional leaders to get the most vulnerable people in the community.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Rev. John Joseph Hayab urged the government to do away with the illusion that the christian community does not love the government.
Hayab noted that their key challenges is in the quest for good governance in the area of justice and equity, disclosing that they were all united behind past Governors of Kaduna state like Senator Ahmed Makarfi, former vice president, Namadi Sambo and Ramalan Yero until the government that was too busy for them came into power.
He said that the presence of the Governor is the kind of leadership that the people of Kaduna state want to see, stressing that the people are excited to see their leaders with them, even as he described the christian faithfuls as peace loving and obedient people.
Speaking on the theme of the carol’s event, “celebrating the prince of peace,” the guest speaker, Minister in-charge of the Evangelical Church Winning All, (ECWA) Blue Roof Sabon-Tasha Kaduna, Rev. Peter Dantata urged christian faithfuls to celebrate the season, bearing its essence in mind.
Rev. Dantata also urged them to keep their hope alive in every of their lives situation even as he encouraged them that the new born King, Jesus the prince of peace is capable of turning the situation in the country around for the better where insecurity and other challenges bedeviling the people will become a thing of the past.
