House Committee Chairman On Sports Harps On Agriculture, Empowers 100 Kaduna Residents With N10m

http://www.newsportng.com.ng Hundred persons from Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency has benefited the sum of ten million naira, (N10m) in Kaduna state after a three day empowerment program.

The gesture is an initiative of the Honourable Member representing the good people of Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, on the platform of Labour Party, (LP) Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams.

Hon. Ekene, who also double as the Chairman, House Committee on Sports, Federal House of Representatives noted that the empowerment program is to improve agricultural output in the quest to reduce unemployment and enhance food security in his constituents.

It could be recalled that the Lawmaker, barely a week doled out over N17m on drinks, food and cash respectively to 863 persons of his constituent as Christmas gift.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the workshop at the weekend, the Lawmaker emphasized that he remained committed to his campaign promises to alleviate the plights of the citizenry, taking the dividends of democracy to the grassroot without any form of discrimination on religion and political affiliation.

Hon. Adams, represented by his Director General, (DG) Constituency Office in Kaduna, Deacon Ezekiel Samuel, disclosed that the 100 participants at the workshop have been empowered with the sum of N100,000 each to boost their respective businesses.

He added that the Lawmaker, as an exemplary leader is determined to transforming the fortunes of Chikun/Kajuru, and urged the beneficiaries to leverage the acquired knowledge to turn Chikun/Kajuru into a thriving business hub for self reliance.

Deacon Ezekiel also assured those yet to benefit from the scheme to remain calm and hopeful, even as he noted that more opportunities would come their way soon.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the event, one of the beneficiaries, Fatima Abdullahi, said that the training was highly impactful and encouraging, promised to utilize the fund judiciously into a profitable business venture.

Another beneficiary, John Mark said, “while I am not a member of Labour Party, I am delighted to be here. Honourable Ekene Adams has done an excellent job of including everyone. It’s exciting to witness members from all major political parties benefiting from this empowerment program. Despite some of us not voting for him based on party differences, we cannot deny that he is a commendable leader. Wishing him more grace.”
