Police arrests Shehu Sani, 3 Others for child trafficking

Hafsat Hussaini 24, all living in Ungwan Rimi Kaduna, and one Angela Onazu from Sabo, in Chikun LGA Kaduna state for child trafficking.
This is coming barely 24-hrs after the Force Command announced the arrest of one fake soldier, identified as Ya’u Ja’afar who was involved in criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and extortion in the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday morning, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Kaduna State Command ASP Mansur Hassan disclosed that the operation resulted in the rescue of a 2-year old Zainab, adding that the apprehended syndicates confessed to their involvement in the heinous crime.
“The Kaduna State Police Command, under the astute leadership of CP Ali Audu Dabigi PSC, has achieved a significant breakthrough in combating child trafficking. On the 24th of March 2024 at about 1100 hrs, based on intelligence reports, police operatives successfully apprehended a notorious child trafficking syndicate operating within the state.
“The operation resulted in the rescue of one victim, identified as Zainab Abdulhameed, aged 2 years. The syndicate members, apprehended in the operation, confessed to their involvement in the heinous crime. The individuals arrested include Shehu Sani (40 yrs), residing in U/Rimi Kaduna; Tskan Isiaku (43 yrs), also residing in U/Rimi Kaduna; Angela Onazu (44 yrs), residing in Sabo Kaduna and Hafsat Hussaini (24 yrs), residing in U/Rimi Kaduna.
“The modus operandi of the syndicate involved targeting underage children who are alone on the streets or running errands. Therefore, parents and guardians should remain vigilant and mindful of the whereabouts of their children or wards.
“The recent arrest highlights the sobering reality of the dangers faced by children when left unsupervised, even for a brief moment. By staying informed and actively involved in their children’s lives, parents and guardians can play a crucial role in safeguarding them from potential harm.
“CP Ali Audu Dabigi PSC commended the diligent efforts of the police operatives involved in the operation and reaffirms the Command’s commitment to partnering with communities to ensure the safety and security of all residents, particularly the most vulnerable members of society.
