SWAN Full Council passes vote of confidence on National President, suspends 3 NEC Officials

http://www.newsportng.com.ng Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN has passed a vote of confidence on its national President, Comrade Isaiah Benjamin, JP.
This is as the full council cleared the President of hateful, vengeful, gross abuse of privilege and declared allegations against him of no consequences, null and void.
In a communique issued to newsmen as part of the resolution at the end of the 2024 SWAN Full Council Meeting Held in Kano between May 1 and May 3rd 2024, Tagged “Kano 2024,” the Council considered the purported wrongdoings leveled against President Isaiah Benjamin by some unregistered members of National Executive Committee (NEC) after listening to his side of the accusations and absolved him of any form of culpability.
The full also has placed suspension on three NEC Officials due to insubordination, while other appointees by the president or NEC were relieved of their positions.
NEC members suspended, are Bonny Nyong, Deputy President, Azuka Chiemeka Vice President, South – South and Ijeoma Peter Nwante, financial secretary.
The Appointees relieved of their positions are the VP South-,East, Frankie Omonkhua, Deputy Secretary General, Olalekan Ige, and the VP Northwest, Mansur Mohammed.
The communique drafting committee chairman, Chimezie Anaso said, “Full Council having considered the activities of three elected NEC members, suspended them indefinitely, just as it also approves the relieve of three others appointed into the leadership of the association of their duties.”
The full council also regretted that, the abuse of power and rascality in the build up to July 2023 Triennial Delegate Congress in Omok which led to the arbitrary disqualification of some aspirants in that election by the Honour Sirawo-led administration and commended the affected persons for the maturity with which they managed the injustice.
“Considered the purported wrongdoings leveled against President Isaiah Benjamin by some unregistered members of National Executive Committee (NEC) after listening to his side of the accusations and absolved him of any form of culpability.
“Full council cleared the President of hateful, vengeful, gross abuse of privilege and declared allegations against him of no consequences, null and void.
“Afterwards, Full Council unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Isaiah Benjamin as President of the Association and the entire NEC as presently constituted.” Part of the communique read.
