Action Alliance expresses confidence on Nigeria’s judiciary over supreme court judgement
http://www.newsportng.com.ng Leadership of Action Alliance, (AA) has expressed their confidence on Nigeria’s judiciary, following the supreme court ruling that affirmed Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omo-Aje as its National Chairman.
It could be recalled that Mr. Kenneth Udeze, appealed his expulsion from the party, despite the ruling of the Federal High Court Abeokuta, and that of the court of appeal sitting in Ibadan, upholding the decision of the party.
The supreme court while delivering a judgement on the controversy, ruled that Mr. Kenneth Udeze who has been expelled from the party lack the locus standi to occupy such a sensitive position like the National Chairman, a verdict that affirmed Hon. Omo-Aje as the authentic chairman.
Addressing Journalists in Kaduna on Saturday, the National Chairman of the Party, Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omo-Aje said that it is absolute nonsense for politicians to take after the path of thuggery as a means of resolving crisis, adding that the judiciary remains the hope of the common man.
The National Chairman who was accompanied by the Woman Leader, AA Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi, The National Secretary, Comrade Miller Orgwu, National Youth Leader, Mr. Adeyemo Abdulwasiu and the State chairman of Kwara state, Hon. Oladele Sunday whyte, called on politicians to always look at the judiciary as partners in progress rather than casting aspersions on them on the alledged perception that they cannot get justice from the court.
Hon. Adekunle added that thuggery and other alternatives from the judiciary would later end in regret and as such the public must believe in the judicial system as an institutions that is saddled with the responsibility of delivering verdict on the ground of credibility and merit.
“It is absolute nonsense to take after the path of thuggery because at the end of the day you will still go back to that court. One good thing about the judiciary is that if you have a judgement that is against you at the High Court, you still have the chance of going to the court of appeals where you have three better heads. Even if you loose at the court again, you still have the opportunity of going to the Highest Court.
“The best bet for everybody is to try the way of the judiciary because judiciary is still the best. We thank God Almighty Allah for giving us victory at the supreme court. It is a very long journey starting from Federal High Court Abeokuta. We were victorious but Barrister Kenneth Udeze appealed to The Court of Appeal, Ibadan.
“At the court of appeal Ibadan, they still lost and Barrister Kenneth Udeze instructed his lawyer to still appeal the matter to supreme court which is the highest court in the land. Now, the case have been ruled in our favour again and we really thank God. The lesson that we learned is that with determination and courage you can do everything.
“From now on, there is no faction in Action Alliance again. AA is one big family under the leadership of my humble self and all of us are one and we are trying to move the party forward by the special grace of God.
“The first thing now is that from next month we will start our State Congress to harmonize all the factions in the state so as to bring everybody together. What the supreme court judgement is all about is that Kenneth Udeze is not a member of AA so we do not have anybody to even reconcile with. If Kenneth Udeze want to be a member of our party now he has to go to his ward and join from that level.
“We did not fight anybody. If it is a member of our party we can now say that we will sit down and reconcile but as it stands now, we do not have anybody to reconcile with.” He said.
