Ekene donates vehicles to Kajuru traditional rulers

Ekene Abubakar Adams, the lawmaker representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, has donated two vehicles to traditional rulers, the Emir of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu and Agom Kufana, Mr. Titus Dauda during a town hall meeting with the residents of Kajuru Local Government.

Ekene stated that the purpose of the town hall meeting was to brief the people on his activities for the past year as their representative, share his plans, and provide them with the opportunity to voice their concerns.

“I am here to listen to your concerns so that I can represent you well. Some of your kinsmen came to my place a few months ago to voice their concerns. So I told them to return home; I will come to Kajuru and listen to your concerns. You don’t need to come; I will come because I am your servant. You employed me. Let’s set aside politics, religion, and other differences and come together to ensure improvement in Kajuru. That’s why we invited everyone across religious and political lines.”

“We intend to provide student loans very soon. We have 200 slots: 100 will go to Chikun Local Government, while another 100 will go to Kajuru. Additionally, there will soon be fertilizer, and we’ll work with traditional leaders to distribute it to farmers. Three hundred bags will go to Chikun, and another 300 will go to Kajuru. Regarding the youths, we have upcoming empowerment programs. My prayer is for God to use me to positively impact your lives. I will empower the youths, market women, and even the elites more than you can imagine.”

Ekene urged the youths to be peaceful and avoid allowing themselves to be used as tools of destruction.

He informed them of some of his activities, including the construction of a police station in Kajuru, contracts for medical outreach programs and the supply of medical equipment in selected primary health centers, supply and installation of transformers, empowerment and capacity building of youths, special intervention in classrooms with furniture in Buda community, and his intention to build a mini stadium in the constituency.

He promised to deliver one trailer of fertilizer to the women of Kajuru and also pledged to donate vehicles to religious bodies in the constituency.

Furthermore, he donated sets of jerseys and balls to some of the football teams in the constituency.

Ekene commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Uba Sani for donating vehicles and motorcycles to security operatives, expressing his belief that this gesture will enhance security in Kajuru local government and across the state.

During the meeting, Emir of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu expressed gratitude to Ekene and offered prayers for his continued good works, asking for God’s blessing of long life to enable him to persist in his endeavors.

Hon Usman Danlami Stingo, the member representing Kajuru Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly under the People’s Democratic Party, commended Ekene for the initiative, stating that it’s the first of its kind since 1999.

He said, “This town hall meeting is not about political parties, politics, or politicking; it is about governance. He is the representative of the people, and he is here to present his scorecard and inform the constituents about the allocations from the national budget for the constituency. This marks the first time in our democracy, from 1999 to the present day, that a representative has gathered the people to share what has been done, what is being done, and what will be done. It poses a challenge for me as a representative. I also plan to do the same in due course. We have been collaborating regardless of our party differences. I ask for his opinion, and he seeks mine. You heard him say that we shall collaborate to see what we can do for the whole community. I pray that this will come to pass going forward.”
