Huzaifa Foundation Distributes Sanitary Items To IDPs Women
http://www.newsportng.com.ng In his efforts to ensure proper hygiene condition for females, Huzaifa Foundation has completed first batch of sanitary pads distribution, targeting Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and others in Kwochingoro, Abuja and neighbouring communities.
The foundation established and financed by Engr. Huzaifa, Son of Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Usman Ibrahim, popularly called Sardaunan Badarawa aimed to deliver philanthropic gestures to members of the society, especially the needy, orphans, people with disabilities among others.
While overseeing the distribution of the donated items at Kwochingoro IDP camp, which included sanitary pads, tissue papers and other toiletries articles, Chairman and CEO of the Foundation Engr. Huzaifa Usman said he was motivated by the philanthropic spirit of his father whom he described as a generous giver to the poor and people in need.
He disclosed that the initiative of reaching out to girl child in IDP camps, secondary schools and other locations with sanitary items was meant to ease the financial burden from their parents so the female pupils could have clean, safe and proper cycles, according to health and medical expert recommendations.
He added that more and reasonable number of female children of puberty ages would be covered in subsequent batches until aim and goal of the initiative could be said to have been achieved.
“I have grown up seeing my dad doing all sorts of philanthropy and community service gestures to people, ensuring that they have basic and necessary things of life.
“These activities aimed to help the masses by my father have been my driving force and motivation to start my own personal philanthropy initiative to reach out to beneficiaries in order to complement my father.
“This I will sustain and expand to accommodate more strata and categories of individuals and families so that more outreaches are achieved in assisting people in need of one necessity or the other, “he vowed.
Also making presentation, the elder sister of Engr. Huzaifa, Hajiya Aisha Usman make it known that the slogan of the foundation is ‘The power of working together’, so there’s need to come together to do the needful.
Aisha Usman, while enjoining the beneficiaries to make proper and judicious use of the items, called on individuals and corporate entities to extend hand of generosity to the needy in the society.
