World Charity Day: LP Chieftain, Olakunle flags off road rehabilitation project in Kaduna

http://www.newsportng.com.ng In a demonstration of corporate social responsibility, Labour Party, (LP) Chieftain, Hon. Olakunle Oluwafemi, has flagged off the rehabilitation of MAKARFI road in Bayan Duste Narayi, Chikun LGA Kaduna state.
The gesture initiated by Oluwafemi, aims to alleviate the sufferings of his constituents in a bid to provide a safe and accessible route for transportation, following the road’s deplorable state due to gully erosion.
He also rehabilitated an abandoned borehole in the community, and donated curtains and a duchess chair to the palace of the district head, Mr. Sule Sarki, further demonstrating his commitment to corporate social responsibility and aligning with the spirit of the 2024 World Charity Day.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Kaduna on Friday, Oluwafemi said that the project was part of his efforts to bring development to his constituency and demonstrate his commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that he will continue to initiate projects that would have direct impact on the lives of his constituents.
He said, “For some time now, parts of Makarfi road in Bayan-Dutse Narayi have been eaten up by gully erosion causing unnecessary gridlocks and accidents in the area.
“This worrisome situation prompted me to take the bull by the horn using my hard earned resources in order to provide succour to residents of Bayan-Dutse and its environs by removing all hindrances impeding free flow of traffic and social economic activities in the area. This road repair intervention with a well constructed drainage system is in actualization of my vision to put smiles on the faces of my people anywhere I found myself.”
Remarkably, the Chairman of LP Narayi ward, Kaduna Hon. Gandu Solomon praised Oluwafemi’s efforts, admitting that the project would significantly improve the socio-economic landscape of the area. He commended Oluwafemi for his dedication to the welfare of the people and his commitment to corporate social responsibility.
In his response, the district head of Narayi, Mr. Sule Sarki, appreciated the humanitarian for his generosity, saying that he had demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the people. Sule avered that Oluwafemi’s efforts in rehabilitating the road and providing access to clean water through the repair of a borehole that had been abandoned for over five years in his community is commendable and should be encouraged.
