CHIKUN/KAJURU: Late Ekene’s Team Handover Renovated Classrooms To School Authority In Kaduna
http://www.newsportng.com.ng Team of Late Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, has officially handed over renovated classrooms to school authority in Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.
The renovated two classrooms, located at the LGEA Sabo Yelwa Primary School, were formally handed over to the school in Kaduna on Thursday to enhance the learning condition of the school children.
Hon. Ekene before his demise was the Member, representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency Kaduna state at the Green Chamber, under the platform of Labour Party.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, in Kaduna on Thursday, the Director General, (DG) Ekene Abubakar Adams Constituency Office, Kaduna Deacon Ezekiel Samuel disclosed that the initiative was part of Ekene’s constituency project, meanwhile they deemed it necessary to complete the vision so that the pupils can have a good learning environment.
Deacon Ezekiel further disclosed that there are other constituency projects like the Buda Community Police Outpost that are still underway, assuring that they will not relent until those projects are completed and handed over to the target communities.
“This project came as at the time the Honourable was alive. He decided to incorporate the Yelwa primary school into his constituency project and even after he died, we went to cooperative which said that they cannot give a dime until the project is completed we now move from cooperative to come and inspect the site.
“Sincerely the day we came here, I look at the amount that was quoted in the project, we cannot complete the project but thank God to my Deputy and Director of Finance, Alex Adanu who went to source for money and make sure that the project was completed because that twenty million that we are talking about is not the actual amount as 27.5% is going out from the total amount but he tried his best to see to the completion of the project.
“There are other projects that we are expecting. Like my company was also given the Kajuru Outpost but as a professional I discovered that the money cannot be able to complete the job so I told the cooperative right there that they should look for someone who will do the project and since then, they have gotten a contractor who is doing the job now and I so believe that until the project is completed and assessment carried out before the payment is processed.
“All the projects that we are involved, we will make sure that those projects are completed whether with or without us gaining anything because we are not after what we can get but the name for ourselves and that of our late boss who is pro-people. That’s why we are going to all the nooks and crannies to make sure that the projects that passed through us initiated by Ekene is carried out whether we are the contractor or not.” The DG said.
Earlier, the Director of Finance and Deputy Director General, Ekene Constituency Office, Kaduna Hon. Alex Adanu remarked that they will continue to work in the legacy of Late Ekene until the dividends of democracy gets to those that were captured in the plan before the demise of their Boss.
Adanu stressed that the legacy of Ekene has made it clear to the nation that a House of Reps member can deliver at such a speed within the space of one year, adding that many aspirants now jostle to represent the late Lawmaker because of their efforts during and after his demise.
Alex said, “this project was sponsored by Late Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams and we have an ideology as a team to ensure that all the dividends of democracy that is fit for the people that we will bring them to the people and we have been working in that ideology.
“Even after his demise this was one of the projects because we were here sometime ago and we saw that the classroom was not enough for the children and so he decided to initiate this project and immediately after his demise we as a team had to ensure that this project is done so that the dividends of democracy will actually go to the people as earlier planned while he was alive
“Today, everybody is trying to ride on the good will of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams.
“Had it been we have not done what we are doing, nobody would say that they want to come and ride on the good will of Late Ekene Adams. So this is just to speak to the entire nation that Ekene Abubakar really worked and we as a team are keeping to the legacy that he has built and we will continue to do that.
“There is nothing we can say than to tell those aspiring as replacement to Late Hon. Ekene than to tell them that if they are lucky and they will continue to follow the laid down legacy, fine because you cannot tell anyone not to contest because it’s democracy and we thank God that his good will continue to speak for him and we will continue to do just that.
“Other projects that are on ground, we will try and ensure as a team that all projects are completed.”
Assessing the project, Mrs. Patience Adeniyi, from the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna express satisfaction, following the completion of the project.
