Planned Youth Confab: Ex-NAN Senate President commends presidency, calls for nonpartisan representation

Kolade Olaoluwa, has praised the Presidency for its initiative aimed at engaging the nation’s youth in national development discussions.
In a statement released to the press, Olaoluwa applauded the government for recognizing the critical role young people play in shaping the future of Nigeria, describing the planned Youth Confab as a “commendable step towards youth empowerment and inclusion.”
However, he also urged the Presidency to ensure that the event does not become a partisan affair. According to Olaoluwa, for the conference to be truly impactful, the selection of attendees should cut across political party lines and include representatives from various social, regional, and ethnic backgrounds.
“The Youth Confab presents a unique opportunity to foster a broad-based representation of Nigerian youth,” Olaoluwa stated. “It is crucial that participants are chosen from all walks of life, ensuring diverse perspectives and allowing for meaningful dialogue that reflects the aspirations of young Nigerians as a whole.”
He further emphasized that making the event inclusive would promote unity and encourage constructive conversations on the challenges and opportunities facing the nation’s youth.
The former NANS Senate President concluded by reiterating his appreciation for the presidency’s initiative, expressing hope that the conference will serve as a catalyst for youth engagement and national progress.
