The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has instructed workers and concerned citizens to refrain from using the services of leading telecommunications companies, MTN, Airtel, and Glo, starting at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
This directive comes in response to recent tariff hikes by these companies.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NLC President Joe Ajaero and Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja demanded an immediate reversal of the increased charges.
They urged the telecom providers to restore their previous tariffs while discussions on the issue continue.
As part of the protest, the NLC has directed Nigerian workers and other willing individuals to suspend usage of the affected networks daily between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM until the end of February 2025.
