Alkali Assumes Command At Customs’ Zone B, Promises Professionalism

http://www.newsportng.com.ng A new era has begun at the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B, Kaduna, as Comptroller Aliyu Alkali formally took over command from his predecessor, Comptroller Ahmadu Bello Shuaibu.

The change of baton ceremony, held at Kangiwa House, attracted a cross-section of dignitaries, retired customs veterans, members of the press, and serving officers, signalling the significance of the leadership transition within one of the service’s most strategic enforcement zones.

In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Comptroller Shuaibu described his tenure as a “celebration of freedom,” lauding the support he received from officers and stakeholders throughout his one-year stay.

He thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the management team for the opportunity to serve, urging personnel to accord his successor the same level of cooperation and commitment.

Taking over the reins, Comptroller Alkali acknowledged the enormity of the responsibility before him, given the vast operational coverage of the Zone B command. He pledged to uphold professionalism and build on the existing atmosphere of peace and dedication that defines the unit.

Zone B, headquartered in Kaduna, covers a wide operational jurisdiction, including anti-smuggling efforts across the North-West and parts of the North-Central region.

Public Relations Officer of the unit, CSC Saidu Nuruddeen, confirmed the formal assumption of duty in a statement made available to journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday.
