“Global Peace Foundation Nigeria salutes the new African Regional Representative, Dr. Daniel Juma Omondi, who also serves as the Country Director of GPF Kenya.
“We will continue to work together to promote the ‘One Family Under God’ campaign for a peaceful Africa and the renaissance of our region through ethical and innovative leadership,” the statement read.
Hayab noted that Omondi’s wealth of experience and passion for community-driven solutions make him well-suited for the continental role. He expressed optimism that the appointment will strengthen collaboration among GPF chapters across Africa.
The appointment, effective May 1, 2025, was announced in a circular signed by GPF Senior Vice President Mr. Aya Goto and released from the organisation’s Washington D.C. headquarters on May 3.
In his acceptance remarks, Omondi expressed deep appreciation to the GPF leadership, particularly the Chairman, Dr. Hyun Jin Preston, and President Jim Flynn. He pledged to work closely with African governments, civil society organisations, religious leaders, and development partners to expand the reach and impact of the Foundation’s peacebuilding mission.
As one of his first assignments in his new role, Omondi is coordinating the 2nd Annual Family Festival slated for May 15, 2025, at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, Uganda. The high-level event, being organised in collaboration with the Government of Uganda, is themed: “United as One Family under God for Socio-economic Transformation and Achievement of the African Renaissance.”
