The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Northeast, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, PhD, Esq on Thursday led the delegation of party executives from the zone to condole with the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, following the passing of his beloved mother.
The delegation, comprising the executives of the ruling party from across the six states of the Northeast geopolitical zone, described the late matriarch as a virtuous woman who lived a life of devotion, discipline, and service to God and humanity.
In his remarks, while presenting a letter of condolence, Salihu noted that the loss of a mother remains one of life’s most painful experiences, recalling his own personal journey of grief. He stressed that the APC family in the Northeast shares deeply in the sorrow of the National Chairman and is united in prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.
He said: “On behalf of the APC Northeast, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our National Chairman and his family. We pray that Almighty Allah grants Mama eternal rest and gives the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. And when our own time comes, may we end our journeys righteously.”
Responding, Dr. Yilwatda expressed profound appreciation to the Northeast leadership for their solidarity and compassion at this difficult time. He recalled fond memories of his early school days in Yobe State, where he lived with his late father during his formative years, stressing his deep personal connection to the Northeast.
The APC National Chairman further urged members of the party nationwide to remain steadfast in promoting unity, peace, and collective responsibility — values he said his late mother exemplified throughout her lifetime.
