SOKAPU Hails Tinubu’s Nomination of Gen. Musa as Defence Minister

Southern Kaduna Peoples United Association, have applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa as Nigeria’s next Minister of Defence, describing the development as a renewed signal of confidence in the nation’s security future.
News of the nomination, which broke on Tuesday, triggered widespread reactions across the country, with many stakeholders welcoming the choice of the former Chief of Defence Staff. The nomination was widely described as a reinforcement of hope that Nigeria remains committed to defeating terrorism and confronting insecurity with competent leadership.
In a statement issued in Kaduna, the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples United Association, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, said General Musa’s emergence represents one of the most reassuring decisions taken by the Tinubu administration in recent months. He noted that the retired general’s record of service, discipline and strategic competence places him in a strong position to reposition the Defence Ministry.
He appealed to the Senate to give the nomination accelerated consideration, stressing that the country requires decisive leadership in its defence sector. According to him, General Musa’s track record and the President’s determination to deliver quality governance make the nomination a positive milestone for national stability.
Engr. Kato expressed gratitude on behalf of the Southern Kaduna people, describing the appointment as another indication that the region remains recognised and valued in national affairs. He reaffirmed the community’s support for President Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, adding that Southern Kaduna remains committed to the success of their administrations.
He concluded with a call for unity and collective responsibility in safeguarding the nation, praying for continued peace and progress in Nigeria and Kaduna State.
