The Pan-African Leadership League (PALL) has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), describing his emergence as “timely, deserved and a clear sign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to ending insecurity in the country.”
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Stephen Achi, and made available to journalists on Tuesday, PALL said the former Chief of Defence Staff was chosen at a decisive moment in Nigeria’s history and possesses the courage, discipline and patriotism required to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.
PALL noted that although the security challenges confronting the country are enormous, the group is confident that Musa’s extensive military experience and leadership qualities will help Nigeria tackle terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes.
“There is no gainsaying that your appointment received applause from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, who believe that you will make a difference,” the organisation stated.
The NGO added that President Tinubu deserves commendation for “singling out a capable and proven officer” for the critical assignment, expressing optimism that the new minister will deliver results that will contribute to national development and public safety.
While assuring Musa of its support, PALL prayed for God’s guidance as he begins what it described as “a national service of great significance.”
The organisation also expressed readiness to work closely with the Defence Ministry to support ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace across the country.
