http://www.newsportng.com.ng Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the just concluded Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency by-election, Hon. Alexander Adanu, has congratulated Hon. Felix Bagudu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory at the polls.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Bagudu winner of the election conducted on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of his campaign organisation, Deacon Ezekiel Goni, on Monday Adanu said he accepted the outcome of the election with humility and a sense of responsibility, stressing that democracy is strengthened when the will of the people is respected.
According to him, his decision to contest the election was borne out of conviction to provide credible representation to the people of the constituency.
“Though the outcome was not in our favour, I remain deeply grateful to the good people of Chikun/Kajuru who stood with me and believed in our message of hope, equity and development. Your support, sacrifice and trust will forever remain a source of encouragement to me,” he said.
The ADC candidate lauded the leadership of his party, his campaign team and volunteers for their commitment throughout the exercise, assuring that their efforts would not be in vain as the struggle for a better Chikun/Kajuru goes beyond elections.
Adanu urged Bagudu to justify the confidence reposed in him by constituents by prioritising their welfare, peace and progress, while pledging to continue to engage constructively in promoting good governance, unity and inclusive development in the constituency.
“Leadership is not only about holding an office, but also about standing by the people at all times,” he added.
