Bandits devise new strategy, kill two, abduct seven in Kaduna

http://www.newsportng.com.ng Two people have been killed and seven others abducted following renewed bandit attacks on Kokob-Bajaga village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Confirming the incident, Councillor of Kufana Ward, Hon. Sunday Musa, said the armed men invaded the community on Monday night and returned the following morning.
He noted that the attackers now employ a new tactic of hiding inside maize farms along the road to ambush farmers heading home from their fields.
Musa stated that security operatives were deployed to the scene during the raid but stressed that violent incidents, though previously reduced, have begun to resurface in recent months. He appealed to the state government to strengthen ongoing security operations and extend protection to all communities.
In a separate incident, Angwan Rimi community in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area recently came under attack, leaving seven people dead and eight others injured. The Public Relations Officer 1 of the Irigwe Development Association, Mr. Iliya Tata, confirmed the assault, attributing it to suspected Fulani militias. He condemned the killings and urged security agencies to intensify protection of vulnerable settlements.
The Kaduna State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement, and efforts to reach its spokesperson were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
