In the quest to sustain relative peace in Hayin-banki Community in Kaduna State, Global Peace Foundation of Nigeria (GPFN) have partnered Hayin-banki to mark another edition of their cultural carnival, 2022 as one family under God.
The program had in attendance men from all walks of life including different religious and cultural dancers and as well as sporting activities.
Speaking at the event, the country’s Director, GPFN, Rev. Dr. Joseph John Hayap who also doubles as the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Kaduna State Chapter, said one of the Cardinal points of GPFN is interfaith collaboration and leadership to birth understanding using religious leaders’ influence to speak to their congregants on the need for Unity and understanding.
In his remarks, Hayap urged the people of Hayin banki to be a good example of peaceful coexistence, noted that sustainable development cannot be achieved in a crisis prone society.
“One of the Cardinal points of GPFN is interfaith collaboration and Leadership to birth understanding using religious leaders’ influence to speak to their congregants on the need for Unity and understanding. There was a carnival last year during Christmas celebration, now this is Sallah and there is another carnival. Those in attendance during the last event can testify that today’s attendance is much compare to the last time. This is what we want to achieve; a platform where people regardless of their differences come together in Unity, Love and Understanding as one family under God. He said.
The peace ambassador also charged commuters to take cognisance of areas they can impact their society positively in the area of sociocultural responsibilities, noted that the government cannot do everything for them.
“There are so many things the people of this Community can do to promote peace among themselves rather than waiting for the government. The Government can not do everything for us because they are confronted by so many other things, ranging from insecurity, Economy among others.
The Youth Leader, Wakili matasa hanyin banki, Yusuf Tanko who organized the program said he has spent close to a million naira to ensure that the program is a success, called on the youths to be good ambassadors of Peace in their respective locals.
Other participants who applauded the event includes Mrs. Amua Imber, who is a Lecturer with the Federal College of Education, Zaria, Dr. Ismaili Zailani Abubukar of Kaduna Polytechnic, The Kaduna State Coordinator, Hope for mentally illpersies, Saliu Yuguda, among others.
