The UNYF hailed the University of Abuja Governing Council, led by Air Vice-Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita (Rtd), for its progressive decision-making process. The council’s focus on competence, rather than age or gender, was praised as a reflection of fairness and equity essential for Nigeria’s advancement.
Speaking on behalf of the organization, Shoroye described the appointment as one of the best in recent history and pledged the forum’s support for the new Vice Chancellor. He urged students, staff, and stakeholders at the university to rally behind Professor Maikudi and her vision for transformative leadership.
“Any attempt to destabilize her tenure is tantamount to undermining the collective aspirations of Nigerian youths for meaningful leadership opportunities,” the UNYF stated.
Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi’s appointment marks a significant milestone for the University of Abuja and Nigeria’s education sector, as stakeholders anticipate a tenure defined by innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
