http://www.newsportng.com.ng It has been said that ‘Grace’ is unmerited Favour; an amplifier of one’s little effort into the realm of greatness, distinction and eminence.
The emergence of Comrade Isaiah Benjamin, JP as the new National President of Sports Writer’s Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) corroborates that grace has the lifting power to place people above their background, peers and contemporaries regardless of the ill-feelings of people.
Benjamin, born in January 8th, 1972 is a dogged, brave and freedom fighter right from his school days in the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
As a Comrade who believe in touching the lives of people positively in the Journalism and other profession, the erudite pen man is known for leadership exploits in various organizations and institutions, especially those who believe in his capacity that is mostly tailored towards the welfare of people.
Prior to his emergence as the National President of SWAN on Thursday, 13th of July, 2023, Mr. Isaiah, mostly called by colleagues, “Ishben” was the Chairman, SWAN Kaduna state chapter, current Bureau Chief of Leadership Newspaper Kaduna, a Media consultant and also the serving Chairman of the Print Newspapers in Kaduna state, to mention but a few.
Even though grace has the lifting force to place people above their equals, it is also worthy of note that God is a rewarder of diligent labourers like “Ishben”, who never goes to sleep until his daily tasks are carried out effectively.
This attributes of Benjamin also connotes that when an individual is found faithful at what he does, bigger ones would look for them effortlessly as a means of encouragement to do more for the sake of humanity.
For the record, Isaiah was never interested in the SWAN presidency at first. In our walk together, he had admire the position of SWAN Secretary or it’s Assistant, but grace said: No. You have been faithful over few things: it’s time to go mega.
Grace carriers are earth shakers. They don’t easily give up even in the midst of true situation of things around them. They are not moved by obstacles, challenges and controversies: neither do they live their life as consensus to people’s thought and imaginations. They live on God, believing for better tomorrow which must arrive.
It’s pertinent for people to note that the destiny of every human being on earth is anchored on the grace of God not by fraud as nobody can become anything in life more than the grace of God can make them.
Therefore, we must be deliberate in touching the lives of people that God brings our way on daily basis, against the lifestyle of self centeredness, hate, envy, greed and competitive jealousy even as it is much better to contribute to the success of people than to their failure.
Congratulations, Comrade Isaiah Benjamin, JP.
