Kaduna Government to Build 50 Secondary Schools with 100,000-Student Capacity

http://www.newsportng.com.ng The Kaduna State Government, under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, has unveiled plans to construct 50 new secondary schools designed to accommodate over 100,000 students.
Speaking during a media parley held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council, on Thursday the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the Governor, Prof. Bello Ayuba, emphasized the administration’s dedication to transformative education policies.
Prof. Ayuba said that the project underscores the government’s resolve to ensure that no child is left behind whenever it comes to the issue of education.
He further revealed that 2,000 qualified teachers have been recruited to support these new schools. These teachers, he said, are poised for deployment, a move aimed at improving teacher-to-student ratios and enhancing the quality of education across the state.
Thus far, 2,326 classrooms have been built, 707 renovated, and 30,742 two-seater desks provided to improve learning conditions as teachers have been equipped with 3,704 new furniture units.
While the commitment aimed to address critical infrastructure gaps, the state has also constructed 918 VIP cubicle toilets and 51 hand pump boreholes, ensuring that schools have access to clean water and sanitation facilities. 68 road projects, covering a total of approximately 700 kilometres, across the three senatorial districts have also been undertaken by the governor.

“Besides, approval has been given for the construction of additional 50 secondary schools across the state and upon completion, these new schools are expected to enroll over 100,000 students, further solidifying Kaduna State’s commitment to providing inclusive and accessible education for all. Also, 2,000 qualified teachers have been recruited, awaiting deployment to these newly completed schools.
